Role Description

This is a part time hybrid/ contract role based in Raleigh, NC, with flexibility for some remote work. As a Freelance Interpreter, you will provide professional interpretation services in various settings, including medical, legal, and business environments. You will facilitate clear and accurate communication between clients and other parties, promote cultural understanding, and ensure a respectful and inclusive experience for all. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with document translation and participating in cultural training programs.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and at least one additional language, with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in interpretation across medical, legal, or business settings
• Proficiency in document translation and an ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality
• Familiarity with cultural dynamics and ability to promote cultural understanding
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with patience, empathy, and professionalism
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Cultural Studies, or related field preferred
• Certification in professional interpretation such as CMI, RID, or equivalent is an advantage
