This engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining NOVA’s production management software systems and flight operations tools, focusing on front-end and back-end web development and general software development. Day-to-day tasks include programming, product testing, support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our cutting-edge drone light shows.

About The Position
This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Engineer located in Boulder, CO. This engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining NOVA’s production management software systems and flight operations tools, focusing on front-end and back-end web development and general software development. Day-to-day tasks include programming, product testing, support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our cutting-edge drone light shows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development - Architect, implement, and maintain software components for production management and show management including external collaboration, logistics, and resource allocation.
- System Integration & Reliability - Ensure smooth integration between these tools. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Cross-Team Collaboration - Partner across operations and engineering teams to translate visual storyboards into executable software designs.
- Continuous Improvement - Participate in code reviews, contribute to development process improvements, and stay up to date with emerging aerospace and production management technologies. Continuously improve processes, performance, and security of applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years (or more) of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Threejs.
- Experience using modern AI coding tools in an effective and responsible way.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with an ability to stay agile in fast-paced, creative environments.
- Prior entertainment experience is a plus but not required.
