Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Pond Technician to join our expanding team. This hands-on role focuses on building, maintaining, and improving a variety of koi ponds, fountains, and water features. With less emphasis, it will also involve servicing, and maintaining larger natural ponds. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, has a great attitude, and takes pride in their work. Willingness to learn and take feedback is crucial. Technical experience is required (construction, handyman, plumbing, HVAC, pool, irrigation, controls, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair plumbing issues, leaking pond liners, faulty systems, and more
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install pumps, filters, lights, and more
- Build, clean, and maintain ponds, waterfalls, fountains, and lakes
- Move raw material (dirt, stone, gravel, etc.) to assist with construction and removal.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy machinery
- Interact professionally with clients and represent NOVA Ponds on job sites
- Work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments
- Drive company vehicles, sometimes with trailer
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential
- Prior experience in similar trades required
- Leadership or crew management experience is a plus
- Must be punctual, reliable, and organized
- Willingness to learn and take feedback
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- CDL not required but is a plus
