Job Summary
The HR Manager will assist the Human Resources Director in overseeing all human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws in the 5 states in which Nova Farms operates. This position will play a key role in fostering a positive company culture and ensuring that all HR policies and practices align with the strategic goals of Nova Farms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Co-Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new employees are integrated smoothly into the company.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances.
- Foster a positive work environment through conflict resolution, mediation, and team-building activities.
- Promote a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement performance appraisal systems.
- Guide managers on setting goals and conducting performance reviews.
- Address performance issues and implement improvement plans when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Deliver training sessions on various HR topics.
- Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
- Assist with the administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Manage employee benefits programs and address employee inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience with multi-state oversight is highly desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HR software (Wurk) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
