Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the quoting and procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. This position entails processing new customer quotes from and help the Purchasing team. This position involves collaborating with various departments to fulfill inventory needs, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier relationships. Responsibilities:
- Interface with customers on status of assemblies.
- Quote electronic assemblies using online quoting software and other methods to gather component pricing data. Use Excel model to complete quote and fill out formal quote to be sent to customers.
- Interface with customers to provide production status and negotiate job pricing in order to win jobs. Provide customer interface on pending jobs and jobs being quoted.
- Work with Production team to understand and coordinate new orders as well as properly estimate time required to complete certain assemblies.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance.
- Oversee contract management and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Conduct supplier management activities, including evaluation and selection of vendors.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control measures.
- Work closely with production teams to understand material requirements for production.
- Duties include interfacing with customers on status of assemblies.

Qualifications:
- Proficient in Excel. Able to do basic data manipulations in Excel.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of computers at the user level and able to quickly learn new software.
- Good numbers sense.
- Familiarity with Electronic Components is preferred.
- Familiar with all electronic components used in PCB assemblies. Ability to find equivalent components.
- Participate and lead efforts within your area of expertise to ensure on-time delivery to maximize on-time customer shipments, cost and inventory reduction goals.
- Ability to run MRP to plan purchasing based on future orders, monitor and analyze forecasts.
- Interface with customers to understand assembly requirements and determine equivalent components with same functionality.
- Successful in part searches and price comparisons to prioritize and specify best-price and availability.
- Prepare and Import customer BOMs into ERP system.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
- Purchase components based on Quoted jobs by searching best pricing through distributors and other electronic component vendors.
- Able to assist in other manufacturing process tasks as needed.
- Good communications skills.
- Able to multi-task.
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Position Criteria:
- Ideal candidate has a good understanding of PCBA assembly processes
- Good working knowledge of computers and productivity software and has a strong working knowledge of MS office suite and ERP system(s).
- Familiar with electronic components.
- Must be able to observe, evaluate, summarize and communicate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Must have an analytical and process-driven approach with a high attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with ability to investigate root cause and drive to resolution.
- Capability in multi-tasking, including prioritization of work and management / organization of time
- Superb influencing / vendor negotiation skills and ability to influence for results
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, changing and deadline-oriented environment
- Willingness/flexible skillset to support a small materials team in a variety of material management related activities
- Requires excellent communications skills – both written and verbal
