Position Title: Marketing Coordinator

Department: Marketing

Reports To: VP of Marketing & Community Development

Core Hours: Mon-Fri from 8:30AM – 5:30PM

(Full-Time)

  • Occasionally working during evening and weekend hours as events are scheduled required. Special events can require working outdoors.

Location: All Branches and other locations outside of Nova

  • Wage Range: $41,000 - $43,000 (based on skills & experience)


Position Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing Nova Credit Union’s community presence and brand impact. Under the direction of the VP of Community Development/Marketing and the Marketing Specialist, this position focuses on building strong community relationships, expanding membership, delivering financial education, and increasing brand awareness across all branch service areas. Through active engagement with schools, chambers of commerce, local government, non-profits, and businesses, the Coordinator assists in relationship building of strategic partnerships that align with Nova’s growth goals. This role also ensures events are well-planned, properly equipped with marketing materials, and designed to generate measurable results in membership and loan growth. The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of financial literacy, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.


Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with VP of Community Development/Marketing and Marketing Specialist to plan, execute, and evaluate community events.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of credit unions, Nova products/services, and financial literacy initiatives.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with community partners, coordinating Nova’s presence at local events.
  • Assist in identifying new strategic partnerships including non-profit organizations and both large and small businesses.
  • Support financial education programs for schools, non-profits, chambers, and businesses in line with Nova’s coaching initiatives.
  • Assist VP of Community Dev/Marketing in presenting Nova Credit Union products and services to small and large non-profit organizations and businesses, including our current strategic partners
  • Use sound problem-solving and decision-making skills to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks to keep the department organized and effective.
  • Maintain inventory of promotional products, logo wear, and printed materials; provide recommendations for new items.
  • Assist with set-up, take-down, and on-site execution for community events, including weekend or holiday participation when required.
  • Update and maintain various member reports, event item inventories, and marketing supply lists using MS Excel.
  • Support digital marketing initiatives, including email, website content, SEO, and social media efforts.
  • Provide creative input for campaigns and promotions, tailoring messaging for target audiences.
  • Assists marketing team in analyzing market trends and demographic data concerning members.
  • Gain an understanding of MCIF reports and performance of various marketing campaigns to assist in analysis and evaluation of campaign success
  • Support other marketing efforts and special projects as assigned by VP Community Dev/Marketing and Marketing Specialist.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist as a backup Marketing Specialist.
  • Complete other various assigned tasks and projects from VP Com Dev/Marketing and Marketing Specialist.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, corporate or retail sales, with demonstrated success required.
  • Some graphic design experience preferred.
  • Credit Union experience a plus.

Education

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Social Media Communication, Graphic Design or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED required

Skills

  • Abilities to competently perform this job include the need to be organized, patient, alert, accurate, use reasoning, remember details, be a self-starter, analyze and solve problems using sound judgment skills and to be persuasive.
  • Technical marketing skills
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Possess strong creative and analytical skills with ability to multi-task and focus.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people at all levels in and outside the organization.
  • Strong computer experience, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
  • Good working knowledge of computer software programs, database management, and design software.
  • Good communication and social marketing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability.
