Middle School Computer Science Teacher
2026-2027 School Year
Position Summary
To plan, organize, and deliver an instructional program in computer science that supports student learning and development in areas such as programming, computational thinking, and digital literacy, while aligning with Florida standards and district goals.
What You’ll Do
- Teach engaging computer science courses (e.g., programming, algorithms, cybersecurity, digital literacy)
- Develop and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans
- Use project-based learning to promote critical thinking and problem-solving
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction based on data
- Create a structured, respectful, and academically rigorous classroom environment
- Integrate classical learning principles such as logic and reasoning into STEM instruction
- Support student participation in STEM activities (coding clubs, competitions, robotics, etc.)
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to support student success
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or related field
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of programming and computer science concepts
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
Preferred:
- Teaching experience in computer science or STEM
- Experience with AP Computer Science, robotics, or cybersecurity
- Industry certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
- Experience in a STEM or classical education environment
