Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary School Teacher for grades K-3 to inspire young learners and foster a love of education. In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans, implement effective classroom management strategies, and support the holistic development of children. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, social studies, and other core subjects.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement, behavior management techniques, and individualized support.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists (such as special education teachers), and parents to support diverse learning needs, including children with autism or requiring early intervention.
- Mentor students by providing guidance, encouragement, and tutoring tailored to individual learning styles.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, lesson plans, and student progress reports.
- Support early childhood development principles by fostering social-emotional skills and promoting inclusive classroom practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood education theories such as Montessori or early intervention strategies.
- Contribute to school community activities, library services, and extracurricular programs that enrich student experiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
- Valid State of Florida teaching certification for elementary education (K-3).
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools and educational software applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Experience working with students who have special needs or require behavioral support is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment strategies.
- Skills in proofreading, writing skills for documentation purposes, and experience with library services are advantageous.
