About the job
The Production Specialist is responsible for the daily operations, safety, daily maintenance, and environmental compliance of the Carbon Disulfide, Sulfur Chlorides, NaSH plants and NaSH logistics.
In your future role as Production Specialist you will
- Direct supervision of all Plant Operators and Chemical Processors. Responsible for routine communications with and instructions to Operators and Chemical Processors.
- Coordinates weekly and daily maintenance activities, issues work orders, plans routine maintenance in the Carbon Disulfide, Sulfur Chlorides and NaSH Plants.
- Responsible for all training of Plant Operators and Chemical Processors. Completes required training as planned in the ATP.
- Adjusts production rates as required under the supervision of the superintendent to maintain targeted inventory levels and meet sales levels.
- Leads troubleshooting functions during major plant operational or quality problems.
- Responsible for completions of Operators/Chemical Processors time cards, scheduling, paycheck distribution.
- Authorizes all work permits and ensures the safety of personnel performing the work.
- Completes various improvement projects as planned on the AQP.
- Responsible for product quality environmental compliance, and plant safety for daily operations.
- Coordinates all the NaSH loading activities to get shipments on time and works together with the Customer Service department to ensure the availability of trailers and railcars.
- Observes site for potential intruders, trespassers, or non-authorized persons; reporting suspicious items, persons or activities.
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of plant operations (preferably as an operator)
- SAP experience
- Kronos experience
This is a permanent on-site position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Area Superintendent and based in Axis, AL.
