What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Associate, Fund Administration position at Nottingham?
As a member of the Fund Administration team, the Associate is responsible for various administrative responsibilities related to 40ACT products, primarily Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds. The Associate will work both individually and in a team structure both internally and externally acting as a liaison with clients, interacting with outside auditors, custodians, regulatory agencies, and other service providers.
Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Preparation of cover to cover Annual and Semi-Annual shareholder reports with all related disclosure requirements. Respond, resolve and/or challenge any comments from audit partner review. Produce a final report free of any open comments and audit partner has given consent.
- Manage the overall audit function, provide or prepare all audit requirements/requests/testing to ensure audit receives final consent within the 60-day requirement.
- Preparation of various reporting, Prospectus and SAI updates, NCEN, NPORT, NCSR etc.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual income and capital gain distributions.
- Prepare expense estimates and generate accruals for Fund’s operating activities. As well as monitoring Fund’s expenses throughout the fiscal period, make changes where necessary, to ensure expense accruals meet expected billing.
- Respond to questions from Fund investment advisors, regulatory reporting agencies, Trust Counsel, outside auditors, and various internal constituents
- Ensures adherence to standard regulatory requirements (i.e. SEC, IRS, FINRA, and other regulatory agencies for 1933 and 1940 Act Funds)
- Research and stay current on investment industry requirements/changes to the quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports as well as tax requirements/changes at the Fund and shareholder level.
Additional Experience (but not necessarily required):
- Preparation of both fiscal and excise tax provisions accurately, completely, and in accordance with each Fund’s tax calendar/audit schedule. Respond, resolve and/or challenge any comments from tax partner review. Produce a final tax provision, free of any open comments and tax partner has given consent within the 60-day requirement.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics Business, or related field required.
- 5 years’ experience working in Fund Administration.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Previous experience in accounting, banking, or financial services a plus.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail.
- Effective written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
- Deadline-oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
