Founded in 1873, Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP) is a Catholic, independent, college-preparatory school for girls in grades 6–12 located on a beautiful 65-acre campus in Towson, Maryland. Inspired by the School Sisters of Notre Dame and rooted in the charism of unity, NDP is committed to educating young women to transform the world, a mission the community has been committed to for more than 150 year and accepts with enthusiasm, conviction, and faith.

Technology at NDP centers on the belief that an integrated approach advances learning goals, enhances teaching, motivates learning, and prepares students to meet the technological demands of higher education and the workplace. NDP serves over 810 students in our Middle School (grades 6-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12) and approximately 200 faculty and staff members.

Position Overview

  • Provide clear expectations, feedback, and accountability while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented departmental culture.
  • Maintain clear documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources for the school community.
  • Partner with HR on onboarding/offboarding processes and procedures (accounts, access, devices, training, documentation, and security).

Operations, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Provide executive oversight for compliance, data governance, and cyber resilience, safeguarding the school’s digital assets and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate closely with the Coordinator of Educational Technology to shape and align technology-related professional development goals for faculty, staff, and administration, supporting the effective use of both existing and emerging technologies across the school.
  • Maintain and enhance safety and emergency communications systems (speakers/displays, phone routing for accurate emergency location).
  • Act as the primary resource for oversight and development of campus policies that correlate with federal and state legislature regarding child privacy, on-line safety and cyber-security to ensure strong student and staff data protections aligned with FERPA, COPPA, and other applicable standards.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including on-premises and cloud backup strategies and readiness testing.
  • Participate on the Crisis Management Team and provide leadership as it relates to the use of technology which ensures the safety and security of all faculty, staff, and students on campus during a state of emergency.
