Responsibilities
- Patrol school grounds regularly to deter misconduct and ensure safety for students and staff
- Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, or disturbances on campus, utilizing appropriate arrest procedures when necessary
- Conduct surveillance activities to monitor campus activities and prevent unauthorized access or theft
- Enforce school policies, local ordinances, traffic laws, and criminal laws relevant to the school environment
- Write detailed reports on incidents, investigations, and daily activities using proper report writing protocols
- Assist with traffic control during school events and manage vehicle operations safely within the campus perimeter
- Provide first aid and CPR when needed, following established protocols to support injured individuals
Experience
Qualified applicants must have successfully completed basic training as required by MPOTEC under
Act 120 or have been Honorably Discharged from the Pennsylvania State Police and have a minimum
of 10 years of full-time law enforcement experience. Firearms qualification must be up-to-date.
Applicants must also have updated AED, First Aid, and CPR training.
Qualified applicants must be able to communicate and act in a manner that conforms with Catholic
principles.
In addition, qualified applicants must have or be willing to obtain NASRO Basic School Resource
Officer Course certification or equivalent. The Diocese will reimburse new officers for this training.
Prior to employment potential hires will be required to obtain their FBI Fingerprint Clearance, State
Criminal History Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, Act 24 Report and Certification, and Act 168
Disclosure Release. Applicants will also be required to complete VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children
training.
