Job Description
The 7-12 Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students in grades 7 through 12. This role involves developing and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success and promote academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
1. Instruction and Curriculum Development:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and address the diverse needs of students.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in learning.
2. Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.
- Address and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures.
3. Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and progress.
- Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and provide feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
4. Student Support and Engagement:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full academic potential.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress and behavior.
5. Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
6. Curriculum and Resource Development:
- Develop and adapt instructional materials and resources to meet the needs of students.
- Integrate technology and digital tools into the curriculum to enhance learning.
- Stay informed about new teaching methods and educational research.
7. Extracurricular Involvement:
- Support and participate in school events, activities, and extracurricular programs.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for students outside the classroom.
8. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, state regulations, and educational standards.
- Prepare and submit reports on student progress, behavior, and other required documentation.
- Maintain the confidentiality of student records and information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, master’s degree/valid teaching certificate preferred.
- Previous teaching experience at the secondary level preferred

Salary : $35,358 - $51,215
