JOB TITLE:Biology teacher Health & Wellness REPORTS TO/EVALUATED BY: Chair of the Science Department/Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time 2025-2027 Position Begins August 2026 ABOUT NOTRE DAME CRISTO REY HIGH SCHOOL (NDCR) www.ndcrhs.org: Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School (NDCR) is a private, Catholic, college-preparatory high school located in Lawrence, serving 274 students—many of whom are first-generation college-bound and bring strong aspirations for academic and professional success. The school is part of the Cristo Rey Network, a growing network of 30 schools across the United States built on a model that integrates rigorous academics with real-world work experience. Central to this model is the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), an innovative and highly successful partnership with the business community. Originally developed by the Jesuits and expanded nationally through significant investments from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Cassin Educational Initiative Foundation, the CWSP provides students with meaningful professional opportunities while helping to make their education more accessible. Through CWSP, each student works five full days per month during the academic year at one of 74 partner companies across the Merrimack Valley, the I-93/495 corridors, and southern New Hampshire. As a result, students earn approximately 60% of the cost of their own education while gaining invaluable workplace experience and professional skills. OUR CORE VALUES: Goodness of God · Education for Life · Integrity · Respect · Family · Community PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Teach College Preparatory, Honors, and Health sections of Biology to 9th grade students, delivering rigorous and engaging instruction Implement the Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School and Cristo Rey Network Biology curriculum with fidelity and intentionality Design and utilize developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned instructional strategies, materials, and assessments to support diverse learners Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades and feedback, in PowerSchool Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, and productive classroom environment through effective classroom management practices Ensure proper use, organization, and accountability of instructional materials, including textbooks, lab equipment, and calculators JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field (Master’s degree in education or Biology preferred) Experience working with young people in a ministerial and/or educational setting Willingness to promote the vision, mission and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Knowledgeable, sensitive and inclusive of all cultures; in particular those served by NDCR Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus If interested, please send a thoughtful cover letter and resume to hr@ndcrhs.org
