What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician position at Notre Dame Academy?
Notre Dame Academy is seeking a dependable, service-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming campus for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position plays a vital role in supporting the operations of our Marist Catholic International Baccalaureate (IB) school community. This position is part-time at three days a week with opportunity for advancement.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of school buildings and grounds.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
- Set up and break down spaces for school events, meetings, and activities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders.
- Deliver packages, replenish supplies, clean spills, and transport equipment as needed.
- Inspect campus regularly and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns.
- Secure buildings and designated areas at the end of the workday.
- Work closely with the Director of Facilities to prioritize projects and support school operations.
- Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively, and respond to emails and messages in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in building maintenance, facilities, custodial, or general repair work preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Valid driver's license
