Director of AdvancementNotre Dame Academy - Hingham, a college-preparatory school educating young women in grades 6-12, is seeking a Director of Advancement with high energy, a creative spirit, and a passion for empowering young women. Notre Dame Academy is a vibrant, Catholic learning community, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The Academy guides young women in their personal faith formation, challenges students to pursue academic excellence, and encourages social responsibility on behalf of global justice. Overview: The Director of Advancement at Notre Dame Academy is a member of the Presidents senior leadership team and provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Schools comprehensive Advancement program.

This includes annual giving, planned giving, alumnae engagement, parent engagement, donor relations, stewardship, advancement communications, and advancement operations. The Director oversees advancement initiatives that strengthen engagement across the school community and support the strategic priorities and the mission and hallmarks of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.This role is instrumental in fostering a culture of philanthropy and building strong, lasting relationships with alumnae, parents, grandparents, trustees, and other constituents of the Academy.The Director of Advancement supervises the Advancement staff members and works closely with the President and the Senior Leadership team. The Director also partners with the Major Gift Officer to support the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of major donors, helping ensure alignment between annual giving efforts, donor engagement strategies, and the development of a strong major gift pipeline. Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive annual and long-range advancement strategies aligned with the Academys mission and strategic goals.Foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the Notre Dame Academy community.Participate in the overall leadership and management of the Academy as a member of the Presidents senior leadership team.Provide leadership and oversight for all advancement programs and staff.Oversee the hiring, management, professional development, and evaluation of Advancement staff.Work with Advancement staff to develop individual and departmental goals and objectives.

Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the Advancement program and its activities.Monitor progress toward goals and ensure alignment with the Academys mission and financial objectives.Work with the Controller to develop and manage the annual Advancement budget.Implement systems and procedures that support the effective operation of the Advancement function.Annual Fund and Advancement ProgramsLead the strategy and execution of the Academys Annual Fund.Manage donor appeals and stewardship strategies to increase participation and philanthropic support.Collaborate with volunteers, parents, and trustees to support fundraising initiatives.Develop and implement engagement strategies for parents, alumnae, grandparents, and friends of the Academy.Oversee Major Gift Officer to support the identification and engagement of potential major gift donors within the school community.Coordinate donor engagement opportunities, events, and communications that support major gift cultivation efforts.Ensure alignment between annual giving efforts, donor engagement strategies, and the development of a strong major gift pipeline.Collaborate on stewardship and recognition initiatives for major donors.Alumni and Community EngagementOversee Alumnae relations programs designed to strengthen long-term engagement and philanthropic support.Build meaningful connections with parents, alumnae, and community partners.Develop programs and strategies that deepen loyalty to Notre Dame Academy.Events and StewardshipOversee Advancement-related events, partnering with the Director of Special Events as to provide guidance and direction for fundraising events and donor recognition programs.Ensure thoughtful and consistent stewardship of donors at all giving levels.Manage donor acknowledgment and recognition processes.Advancement CommunicationsPartner with the Director of Communications team to develop Advancement messaging.Support Advancement-related communications, including fundraising appeals, impact reporting, social media, and marketing strategies that highlight the importance of philanthropy.Advancement Operations and Data ManagementOversee Advancement systems, donor database management, and prospect tracking.Work with the business office to ensure timely processing, recording, and acknowledgment of gifts.Track fundraising performance and prepare data-driven reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.Ensure compliance with nonprofit fundraising best practices.Qualifications: Bachelors degree required.710 years of nonprofit advancement experience, preferably in an independent school, college, or university setting.Demonstrated success managing fundraising programs such as annual giving, major gifts, donor engagement, and stewardship initiatives.Proven ability to effectively manage personnel and collaborate with volunteers and leadership.Excellent writing, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Experience working with donor database and fundraising software (Bloomerang experience preferred).Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.Team-oriented with experience working with volunteers and diverse constituencies.Commitment to the mission and values of Notre Dame Academy.*Notre Dame Academy seeks to create a working and learning environment that reflect the society and community in which we are located, and we actively encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
