Job Description: Assistant Indoor Track and Field CoachFSLA: Non ExemptDate: October 9, 2025Exciting Opportunity: Assistant Indoor Track and Field Coach at Notre Dame Academy!Join us at Notre Dame Academy - Hingham, an all-female college preparatory high school dedicated to empowering young women in grades 6-12. As a vibrant Catholic learning community sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, we focus on personal faith formation, academic excellence, and social responsibility.We are seeking dynamic and experienced candidates for Assistant Indoor Track and Field Coach positions for the upcoming season. We are looking to hire specialized coaches for our Sprints/Hurdles, Jumps (Long/Triple/High), and Throws (Shot Put) event groups. Our Program: Our Indoor Track and Field program is a no-cut sport that welcomes student-athletes of all skill levels and abilities, from beginners to aspiring collegiate athletes.
We emphasize holistic learning, viewing athletics as a crucial extension of the classroom. Our primary focus is on skill development, character building, and academic success.Key Responsibilities: Coaching and InstructionEvent Specialization: Develop and implement safe, effective, and progressive training plans for your assigned event group (Sprints, Jumps, or Throws).Skill Development: Instruct student-athletes on fundamental techniques, advanced strategies, and proper conditioning necessary for their specific events.Athlete Well-being: Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic among all athletes.Safety: Ensure a safe environment, strictly adhering to all school and state athletic association guidelines.Administrative and Team SupportDirect Reporting: Report directly to and collaborate consistently with the Head Indoor Track and Field Coach.Program Needs: Be flexible and prepared to assist the Head Coach with general administrative and logistical tasks as needed, which may include meet entry preparation, equipment organization, and travel coordination.Attendance: Maintain accurate records of athlete attendance at practices and meets.Schedule and Season CommitmentSeason Dates: December 1, 2025 through the end of February, 2026.Practice: Daily, Monday through Friday, from approximately 3:00 PM 5:00 PM after school.Competitions: Coaches must be available for 8-10 meets throughout the season, which primarily occur on weekdays. Coaches should also expect to attend some major weekend Invitational meets.Qualifications and RequirementsPrevious high school coaching experience in Track and Field is strongly preferred. Specific experience coaching one of the requested event specializations (Sprints, Jumps, or Throws) is highly desirable.Must successfully complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, and state-mandated certifications prior to the start of the season.Current certification in First Aid and CPR is required (or must be obtained upon hire).Must demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and motivational skills to effectively work with high school student-athletes, parents, and school staff.*Notre Dame Academy seeks to create a working and learning environment that reflects the society and community in which we are located, and we actively encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
