RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
- Identify and address potential equipment failures before impacting production.
- Maintain ownership of PM schedules, task completion, and maintenance documentation.
Equipment Reliability & Production Support
- Support manufacturing operations by responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with production teams to prioritize maintenance activities based on operational impact.
- Perform safety integrity checks and equipment inspections to ensure safe operation.
- Coordinate maintenance support for facility equipment within assigned scope.
Documentation, Cost Awareness, & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, PM logs, and repair documentation.
- Track repair costs and contribute to cost-savings and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Analyze maintenance trends and recommend improvements to reduce recurring issues.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the site maintenance program.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Communicate directly with vendors and contractors regarding maintenance needs.
- Coordinate external service support for specialized or manufacturer-specific repairs.
- Recommend and purchase routine maintenance parts and tools within approved spending limits.
Safety & Compliance
- Apply the Fortifi Formula and support the company’s Destination Zero safety culture.
- Conduct inspections and corrective actions on machinery and equipment.
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Perform work in compliance with safety procedures when working around energized equipment, heights, and mobile equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Experience supporting equipment uptime in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Preferred: Experience interacting with vendors or external service providers.
- Preferred: Technical training or trade school coursework in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related field.
- Preferred: 3-5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with production teams, vendors, and leadership.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and documentation.
- Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and sense of urgency.
Work Environment:
- Work performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Regular exposure to moving machinery, energized equipment, and industrial tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and reaching.
- Occasional work at heights using ladders or scissor lifts.
- Occasional flexible hours or Saturday work to support preventive maintenance activities.
