Overview
The Youth Specialist supports the development, engagement, and well-being of youth participants through structured educational, recreational, and enrichment activities. This role focuses on creating a safe and fun environment that promotes learning, social growth, and positive behavior during after-school hours and summer programs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and lead age-appropriate activities such as academic enrichment, arts, sports, and life skills sessions.
- Build supportive relationships with youth to encourage personal development, teamwork, and resilience.
- Provide mentorship and guidance that fosters respect, responsibility, and community involvement.
- Supervise youth to ensure safety, engagement, and program participation at all times.
- Support students’ academic success through tutoring, homework help, and skill-building activities.
- Model positive behavior and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Collaborate with program staff to coordinate daily schedules, field trips, and special events.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and progress records as required.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding youth progress or challenges.
- Assist in program setup, cleanup, and organization of materials and supplies.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and special events as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in education, child development, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or community settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead group activities and manage diverse youth populations effectively.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Energetic, patient, and adaptable to changing program needs.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
License/Certification:
- Driver Liscense (Preferred)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (will be required upon hire) (Preferred)
