Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable health educator/presenter to join our team. The Health Educator role is an independent contractor within the NOTA Fitness Team and is responsible for the delivery of onsite and virtual wellness events at NOTA Fitness partners/clients in the DC Metropolitan area and nationwide virtually. The ideal candidate will deliver impactful presentations and training sessions. This role requires the ability to connect with diverse audiences, facilitate discussions, and share practical tools and insights for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Will engage event attendees and partner/client wellness events and inspire people to participate in fun and exciting fitness competitions, health education booths, presentations, and more.
- Deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and training programs on topics such as fitness, nutrition, stress management, disease prevention and more to clients virtually and in-person.
- Responsible for delivering an exceptional relationship-building and customer service experience.
- Provide resources, tools, and actionable takeaways that support physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.
- Serve as a trusted representative and advocate for holistic wellness and professional development within the targeted audience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Master's Degree in Kinesiology preferred. Three years of health education experience presenting on a variety of topics including stress management, self-care, mental health.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to connect authentically and deliver a meaningful experience with various audiences.
- Experience delivering training or educational programs, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant health and wellness industry certification (i.e., CPT, CSCS, Group Fitness, CHES, PHR, RD, Health Coach, etc.) is required.
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions as they relate to event goals, client relationships, and the NOTA Fitness brand.
- Proficient in creating multimedia presentations and using tools such as PowerPoint, video, and other visual aids.
- Personal passion for health and fitness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification or training in counseling, coaching, or wellness-related fields.
