Special Education Teacher - L.E.A.D. Program
Provide direct instruction and prepare to students with disabilities to be self-sufficient once they age-out of the school system.
•Select teaching strategies for implementing IEP goals and objectives for assigned students.
•Maintain continuous performance data on student IEP objectives and documents progress on IEP forms. Coordinate specialized instruction with regular education curriculum as appropriate.
•Facilitate career exploration, build vocational skills and assist in securing job training.
•Network with community resources to provide vocational opportunities.
•Train and place students in the workforce to the best of their abilities.
•Train and supervise paraprofessional aides to assist students with vocational opportunities.
•Work cooperatively with staff to implement, train and monitor specialized behavior plans with appropriate students. Develop curriculum and programs to reflect current abilities of students' specialized needs.
•Access available resources, personnel, literature, research and in-service.
•Complete all required reports and records in an accurate and timely manner. Communicate appropriately and effectively with parents, staff and students.
•Collect and use data to identify student's instructional needs.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Salary according to the Agreement between the Norwood School Committee and the Norwood Teachers' Association (Unit A).
Salary : $62,420 - $123,933
