By providing tailored support to student, they can overcome challenges and thrive in their educational journey.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, and
- Fluent and literate in English and Spanish
- Desire and ability to work with children of multiple ages and abilities.
- Excellent classroom management/support skills.
- Basic to intermediate skills working with computers and school technology.
- Ability to communicate as necessary with parents.
- Excellent written, verbal, and writing abilities.
- Positive attitude about working with children.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The duties of this job may include assisting all school subjects, including math, writing, science, social studies, reading, writing and testing.
- Serve as an interpreter during parent-teacher conferences, meetings, and other verbal interactions between English and Spanish.
- Assist in developing and implementing curriculum and resources that are linguistically and culturally appropriate for the students.
Facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and students who speak different languages to ensure equal access to education.
Aids the teachers in instructing, testing and assessment of students through interpretation, ensuring effective communication and access to the curriculum
Collaborates with other teachers, staff and parents to support learning and development.
Reinforces learning skills as modeled by the teacher.
- Follows and reinforces classroom management and school discipline policies.
- Assists in supervising the behavior, safety and well-being of students in and outside the classroom, halls, and playground.
- Other duties as assigned.
