Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Small Engines Mechanic to join our team at Norwin Rental Outdoor Power Sales & Service. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engine equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power tools. Your expertise will ensure our customers' equipment is running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair issues with small engines, including carburetors, electrical systems, fuel systems, and other components.
- Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and blade sharpening.
- Test equipment for proper performance after repairs or maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and offering maintenance advice to customers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Stay updated on advancements in small engine technology and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a small engines mechanic or similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of small engine systems and components.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose engine issues effectively.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in small engine repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills (not required):
- Certification in small engine repair (e.g., Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda).
- Experience repairing riding lawn mowers and zero-turn mowers.
