SUMMARY OF POSITION 

Technician responsible for dispensing, issuing critical and non-critical components to process orders, and performing the appropriate documentation and procedures to maintaining proper inventory.

 

 

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

 

The Label Office Technician reports to the Receiving and Shipping Manager. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

 

  • Understands work processes and the theory of operation for tasks being performed. 
  • Utilizes computer skills to access views, print, and complete entries. 
  • Performs technical procedures within their skill level.
  • Initiate/Perform troubleshooting and utilize higher level skilled folks as a resource as needed. 
  • Works efficiently, minimizing distractions and manages time to accomplish work by expected deadlines. Provides progress reports when requested. 
  • Operate measure, test, material handling, dispensing equipment as required.
  • Complete all required documentation to GMP standards and maintain good housekeeping standards in your work areas.
  • Pick up, receive, store, stage and dispense materials. 
  • Understands and uses the BAS system to access and lock critical areas. 

 

Documentation Expectations:

  • Search and retrieve required documents from QUMAS (i.e. Reconciliation worksheet). 
  • Able to complete a dispensing ticket to include critical information. 
  • Able to complete a preventative maintenance work order and breakdown sheet.
  • Prints dispensing tickets, SAP worksheet, trash labels, and reconciliation worksheets.
  • Provides input on procedures and training documents (i.e SOP’s, Safe Practices, Work Instructions, EN, MCA, VCC and Work Processes.)
  • Enters orders on visual board. 
  • Requests new logbook and closes completed books.

 

Cross functional and interdepartmental knowledge:

 

  • Identify and utilize the appropriate internal and external expert resources to perform your work. 
  • Understand the flow of materials within SAP and the interaction between the areas. (HR, REC, LOD, Returns, Manufacturing, 314, 315, 317, 319, 320, P-S, controlled substance areas).

 

Inventory Control and SAP:

 

  • Utilize SAP to access and print views.
  • Initiates a reconciliation sheet. 
  • Understand and utilize both US01 and US11 plants. 
  • Understand the theory of inventory and process order flow. 
  • Explain component usage (FEFO, FIFO, returns, additions etc.)

 

Material Ordering:

 

  • Follow first in first expiry (FIFO, FEFO) on materials when possible.
  • Determine plant designation for material (i.e.- US01- US11)
  • Determine material is released and not restricted from use
  • Print SAP documents- Exp Date
  • Create Labels for each material
  • Perform all related calculations

 

Dispensing:

 

  • Inspects and examines critical components to dispense. 
  • Identifies and documents component material and component batch numbers. 
  • Ensure dispensed items are released and within retest / expiration date. 
  • Perform calculation to determine inventory quantities to dispense to orders and campaigns.
  • Understand building overages and carry overs for packaging orders. 
  • Utilize SAP and ASRS system to determine quantity per case and pallet sizes. 
  • Dispense, transport, and assemble critical and non-critical components for batch records and experimental orders. 
  • Able to articulate the process flow of components throughout dispensing with an understanding of the return process. 
  • Perform Physical returns from all areas, ensure inventory quantities and location is correct. Communicate with higher level technician and other business units when discrepancies are found. 
  • Complete weekly cycle count and yearly inventory. Communicate outages to a higher-level technician. 
  • Understands the impact of attachments to the batch records such as the release and process order sheets. 
  • Orders (stock req) and retrieves supplies and blank labels for the Label Office. 
  • Maintains area up to a GMP / FDA compliance expectation. 

 

Equipment and Cleans:

  • Understands and uses equipment to dispense and receive pharmaceutical materials. (cage area, safety stock area, walkie stackers, jacks)
  • Cleans equipment and performs regular housekeeping duties. 
  • Able to safely inspect, operate, charge material handling equipment such as jacks, walkie stackers, and basic hand tools.

 

  • Knowledge of safe and responsible operation, maintenance, and organization required for tools and equipment used in the performance of your job to protect self and others in the workplace. 
  • Able to safely select and work from ladders, lifts, and platforms as required.
  • Completes area cleans as needed.
  • Sorts recyclables and waste.
  • Prepare critical waste labels for disposal. 

 

Leadership and Mastery

 

  • Attends train the trainer class. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic mathematical and mechanical skills. 
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures to perform work function.
  • Sound judgement and operates with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Comfortable with computers and the use of MS Office Suite programs
  • Team player and ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. 
  • Attention to Detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and oral and written communication skills.
  • L2: Level 1 qualified. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP experience
  • 3 years related pharmaceutical experience 

GMP DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

 

  • Provides Input to Change Controls. 
  • Verify product meets expiration, retest dates, and visual inspection. 
  • Inputs into cGMP and Safety documentation.
