We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Housing Choice Voucher Program Assistant Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher program, including processing applications, renewals, and recertifications.
- Coordinate communication between tenants, landlords, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues related to rent payments, inspections, and lease agreements
- Conduct outreach to prospective tenants and landlords to promote program participation and explain program benefits in accordance with Fair Housing regulations
- Support the review of lease agreements, ensuring compliance with Landlord-tenant law and Section 8 guidelines
- Assist in negotiating lease terms between tenants and landlords to foster mutually beneficial agreements
- Maintain accurate records of all program activities, participant files, and compliance documentation.
- Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid State of Connecticut driver’s license and have own vehicle.
- Possession of a High School Degree or GED. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Three (3) years’ experience in property management or related field. Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or its educational equivalent may be substituted for up to two (2) years’ experience.
- Must be certified in Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy and Rent Calculations within one (1) year of date of hire and maintain the same thereafter. May be required to obtain and maintain other job-related certifications as a condition for continued employment with the Authority.
