What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving position at Norwalt Design Inc.?
Job Purpose
A shipping and receiving employee is responsible for the delivery of incoming parts to the job shelves, stock shelves, or personnel the parts go to. The employee will also be asked to complete hands on tasks such as helping with plant maintenance, 5S internal projects, and small assemblies of high speed automation machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive in parts using internal ERP system
- Tag and label parts in accordance with part type
- Place parts onto job shelves in organized fashion
- Reorganize job shelves if seen as out of order
- Assist in plant maintenance and 5S projects working with the plant manager
- Assist lead mechanical assembly technicians on small subassemblies on machinery
- No experience in hand and power tools required
- All tasks will be explained and demonstrated prior to delivery
Qualification Requirements
- Ability to perform math calculations (i.e. fractions and decimals)
- Ability to navigate a computer
- Verbal and written communication skills helpful
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to organize safety audits and recognize unsafe situations
Role can lead to a full time role as either a mechanical assembly technician or electromechanical technician when full time employment is desired.
