Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms and providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and data security.
- Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care, fostering a positive patient experience.
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting surfaces, and following OSHA guidelines.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation and coding for billing purposes.
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a comforting environment for young patients and understanding pediatric-specific protocols.
- Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics and treatment planning in prosthodontics or implant cases.
- Ensure all clinical operations comply with health regulations while promoting a collaborative team environment focused on quality care.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification required; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous.
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is essential for efficient documentation management.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays, medical imaging, and utilizing 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, medical coding, and insurance billing processes.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work effectively within a team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
