Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care across diverse clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, and specialized areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, and emergency medicine. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing services, coordinating patient assessments, administering treatments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and supporting the overall mission of our healthcare facility.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, suturing, and catheter care while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
- Manage acute pain and provide specialized care in areas such as trauma medicine, ICU, PICU, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with complex needs including developmental disabilities, memory care residents, or those requiring long-term or home care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation within EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
- Participate in discharge planning, case management, and health coaching to promote patient education and community health initiatives.
- Maintain proficiency in advanced skills such as ventilator management, airway management, trauma response procedures, and infectious disease care.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or region.
- Extensive experience working in hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care settings including ICU, PICU, or emergency room experience.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for accurate documentation.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities.
- Skills in specialized procedures such as dialysis management, ostomy care, gastric lavage, spinal tap procedures, or dermal fillers are advantageous.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and OSHA standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as urgent care centers or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate patient interactions.
