Purpose of Position:
Provide direction and development for Norton Sound Health Corporation’s Children (0-17 years) and Family Services Substance Use and Behavioral Health program.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee all Children and Family Services, including program fidelity and expansion, program space security, provider education, and all other aspects of the program that advance the Norton Sound Health Corporation Mission
- Work collaboratively with the Administrative and Clinical Directors to maintain compliance with all Federal and State Statutes and Regulations, and ensure programs and structure adhere to CARF standards
- Promote program services to providers and throughout the region to ensure program participants are in the most appropriate treatment levels, enroll in services, and maximize revenue streams. Oversee the management of timely access to care
- Conduct regular meetings with all provider types with youth clients enrolled in services to maintain program fidelity and to revise goals, program structure, and participation protocols
- Analyze, strengthen, and develop village-based and Acute Care Unit youth outpatient and wrap-around services
- Liaise with the Child Advocacy Center, Nome Children’s Home, Office of Children’s Services, Nome Public and Bering Strait School Districts, the NSHC FASD Team, and other youth agencies to collaborate and coordinate services and program development
- Serve as an advocate for clients/families, physicians, and other staff members, facilitating client/family learning throughout the clinical
experience, reinforcing continued healthcare through teaching and/or referral
- Collect and analyze program data to measure impacts and outcomes, and complete reports on effectiveness, efficiency, services access, business functions, feedback of persons served, and challenges, barriers and extenuating circumstances
- Provide and document comprehensive, individual, and culturally-attuned person-centered assessments and treatment plans identifying client substance use and mental health concerns with appropriate levels of services and interventions to achieve client goals
- Collaborate with clients/families, Case Managers, and outside agencies/individuals to develop and secure resources supporting client progress, including vocational rehabilitation, medical services, housing authorities, and other needs.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to offer service provision and program oversight between the possible hours of 0800 and 2000 daily to support group and individual service structures; provide on-call services on a rotational basis
- Maintain quality and efficiency standards and make recommendations to supervisor for improvements as needed
- Provide on-site and telehealth clinical services for 1-2 assigned villages
- Participate in activities promoting professional growth and self- development , attend pertinent in-services, departmental and other meetings as requested
