What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant I position at Norton Sound Health Corp?
Purpose of Position:
Perform entry level professional accountant duties such as preparing journal entries, reconciling investment accounts and maintaining investment records and prepare monthly internal financial statements ,record keeping tracks, monitors, and reports all grant activity.
Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization’s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare assigned journal entries and oversee timely completion of all entries including those related to grants
- Assist in preparing internal financial reports used by the Director of Finance, CFO, Board of Directors and other internal users
- Retrieve records and prepare reports, file required state and federal forms, maintain files in compliance with applicable record retention protocols
- Maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction by explaining NSHC accounting policies and procedures to managers and others who inquire
- Identifying and posting electronic payments
- Perform other duties as assigned
