Description of Position:
Under the direction of your supervisor, the Crew Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of maritime crew members, captains, other personnel, and packages between various locations including ships, airports, hotels, customs offices, medical facilities, and warehouses. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of crew logistics, while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety, and compliance. Complete operational and customs documentation accurately, utilizing appropriate technology and systems to support these processes.
Summary of Objectives:
- Operate company-owned vehicles to transport personnel, luggage, packages, and company property between ships, ports, airports, hotels, warehouses, and other designated locations.
- Plan and coordinate transportation routes in advance, accounting for traffic, weather, and operational changes to ensure timely arrivals and departures, using the Azuga Routes tool.
- Prepare trip paperwork and perform thorough pre-trip inspection advising any concerns to dispatch and the administrative support specialist with time before job start times.
- Maintain communication with dispatch via correct method/medium to confirm schedules, report delays, adjust routes, job completed status, and daily availability as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service to all transported personnel, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before shifts, documenting and reporting any mechanical issues or damage immediately.
- Conduct basic vehicle upkeep including fueling, checking oil and tire pressure, maintaining cleanliness, including general sanitization, and organization of assigned vehicle(s).
- Submit accurate trip logs, including crew names and required stamps / signatures, upon completion of each trip daily. This must be completed for all trips prior to any scheduled time off.
- Adhere strictly to all DOT, OSHA, and company transportation and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all passengers comply with applicable safety policies and transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation, reports, and records related to transportation activities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, vessel captains, port authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Actively solicit QR survey participation from all passengers to gather feedback and improve service quality.

- Maintain flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with business needs
- Maintain availability to be contacted via company-issued mobile phone to ensure effective communication during both on-duty and off-duty hours for emergency response and pre-planning purposes.

Requirements:
Education/Experience
- A combination of relevant education (e.g., degree, certifications) and hands-on experience is preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business, maritime, logistics, or a related field desirable.
- A minimum of one (1) year of relevant transportation or driving experience is required.
Requirements/Licenses
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Must be able to provide and maintain automobile insurance according to state laws.
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) Card within 30 days of hire.

Working Conditions:
- This position is based both indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments, including maritime ports, docks, and vessels. Outdoor work may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat, rain, wind, and cold.
- May be required to perform field-based tasks, including driving, package, and warehouse support, to ensure operational continuity or support team performance.
- When acting in driver or warehouse capacities, drivers are subject to similar physical demands, environmental conditions, and regulatory requirements as outlined for those roles.
- Duties involve prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and phone communication. Standing, walking, and frequent movement between operational areas are also required.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 25 pounds may be required.
- When supporting warehouse functions, drivers may engage in repetitive motions such as bending, lifting, palletizing, or inventory handling, and may operate forklifts or pallet jacks, provided they are certified.
- Environmental exposure includes indoor climate-controlled offices / vehicles and non-climate-controlled warehouses or outdoor areas, with potential exposure to noise, dust, equipment hazards, and seasonal weather extremes.
- Drivers must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering active warehouse or field environments, including high-visibility vests, steel-toe boots, gloves, and hearing/eye protection, as applicable.
- Adherence to all OSHA safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures is required at all times.
- Participation in safety meetings, inspections, training sessions, and emergency response drills is mandatory.
- Must exercise strong situational awareness and set the standard for safety culture, regulatory compliance, and professional conduct across all work settings.
8 days on / 2 days off (must be available 24/7 during your shift)
