Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider – physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner – in the medical office setting. Responsibilities of the role includes:

·Taking patients to rooms | ·Greeting patients |
·Obtaining vital signs | ·Scheduling appointments |
·Assisting with medical procedures | ·Answering phones |
·Performing phlebotomy | ·Clerical & computer work |

·Adhering to safety and infection guidelines | ·Billing and coding |
·Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR) | ·Faxing |
·Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations | ·Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork |
Qualifications

Desired:
- One year Nursing Assistant, PCA or MA
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Certified Medical Assistant Desired: Certification or National Registry as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
