Summary:
Mammography Technologists shall administer radiation to patients in a safe manner. The Tech shall operate equipment and prepare radiographic room with appropriate supplies. The Tech will provide patient service using various imaging modalities in addition to mammographic equipment.
The Tech will correlate and/or integrate radiologic aspects of care for all patients. The Technologist will perform mammography examinations following prescribed techniques on adults. Additionally, the Tech will interact with radiology management system and participates in such other clerical activities to ensure smooth work flow and provide the appropriate documentation.
Requirements:
Successful completion of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active ARRT Radiology certification in appropriate state with Mammography specialty or active ARRT Radiology certification and has been performing mammography prior to and continuously since 1996. Must complete 200 mammograms over a 24-month period to maintain competency. AHA BLS required
