What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Delivery Driver position at Northwoods Furniture & Mattress?
Responsibilities
- The Lead Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a straight truck along a daily delivery route. Tasks along the delivery route include:
- Delivering customers' furniture including assembly and installation of the furniture when required.
- Inspecting furniture for flaws or damage.
- Resolving customer complaints should they arise by working with the Customer Care department.
- Using a tablet to process customer paperwork.
- The Customer Specialist/Delivery will inspect and clean the company vehicle to keep it presentable and functioning.
- While working both independently and as part of the warehouse team, Delivery Drivers are expected to unpackage, assemble, and prepare furniture for transport in customer vehicles. This includes making sure that furniture is adequately wrapped in protective materials and properly tied down.
- Inspecting furniture for damage and flaws is an important part of the duties of a Customer Specialist/Delivery in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
- During downtime, contribute to warehoues duties.
- Other duties as assigned
High physical demands can be required. The employee is regularly required to stand for sustained periods of time. The employee can be expected to lift, push, and pull up to 150 pounds individually and up to 300 pounds as a part of a team
**Pay is negotiable based upon experience
**In the course of the job, delivery drivers may sometimes receive tips from customers. Customers keep 100% of tips collected.
