Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician with substantial experience in anesthesia, client communication, and a strong commitment to feline-friendly and low-stress handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor anesthesia for various procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare surgical suites and maintain anesthesia equipment.
- Collaborate with veterinarians to implement anesthesia protocols.
- Educate clients on post-operative care and general animal health.
- Maintain accurate medical records and anesthesia logs.
- Employ low-stress handling techniques, including those specifically tailored for feline patients.
- Restrain animals safely and compassionately during examinations and procedures.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze cytology samples, interpreting results to assist in diagnosis.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in veterinary anesthesia.
- Competence in collecting and interpreting cytology samples.
- Proficiency in low-stress animal restraint techniques.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience in client education and communication regarding animal care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fear Free Certification or similar training.
- Experience with advanced anesthetic techniques, CPR, and emergency protocols.
