Overall Function:
The Financial Planning Specialist (FPS)’s role is to provide all aspects of support to a group of Financial Representatives (FRs). The FPS supports a group of FRs as they focus on building their practices and client relationships.
This is an in-person position based out of our office in Melville, NY.
Job Functions:
- Collaborate with more senior staff members to solve more complex issues, work with Home Office representatives, financial representatives, and field staff to resolve.
- Respond to inquiries regarding investment holdings and activity.
- Stay informed of industry changes and developments that affect processing procedures.
- May assist with testing, system enhancements, upgrades, new initiatives, and other projects involving procedural and workflow changes and may make recommendations for process improvements.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with each FR
- Manage FPS List of Services with FRs.
- Communicate with Home Office to supply or obtain information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain proficiency in using company and clearing firm systems.
- Prepare and process all necessary paperwork for establishing investment accounts.
- Initiate and manage transfers and asset movement throughout the day.
- Follow up on actionable items to ensure they are completed and resolved.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all insurance and investment-related documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in the underwriting process by gathering necessary documentation, coordinating with underwriters, and ensuring all requirements are met.
- Manage the full lifecycle of insurance policies, including applications, renewals, modifications, and cancellations, ensuring all actions are documented and compliant.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all insurance and investment-related documents, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
- Stay current with industry regulations, ensure adherence to compliance standards, and generate reports for internal use and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Willingness to grow with the role and learn new functions.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Life, Accident & Health license obtained within first 3 months of employment.
- Series 6 or Series 7 to be obtained during employment preferred.
- Financial Service, Insurance, or Sales industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Salary Rate: $70,000 per year
The provided compensation amount is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
