What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Bus Driver position at Northwestern Local Schools?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License with minimum 2 years driving experience
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsements; appreciated, but not required; Will train successful candidate(s)
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment; Confirmed via FBI/ BCI background checks AND BMV Records Check -
Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug/alcohol test results and T8 physical
Successful completion of pre-service bus driver training program
Qualified to be covered by the district insurance carrier
Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks
Embodies high ethical standards/integrity, is team oriented and maintains a positive attitude
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Duties may require providing physical assistance to students.
DETAILS:
For those interested in an as-needed position.
No contract or obligation to any set schedule or designated route assignment.
Shall be utilized and assigned when and wherever needed.
May require evening hours when field/ athletic trips need to be covered instead of daily routes.
AM Route Times: 5:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. = 2.75 hours
PM Route Times: 2:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. = 2.75 hours
Additional Daily Pre-Trip Time: 25 minutes = .42
Total Approximate Daily Time: 5.92 hours
