Position Information:
NWHSU is seeking a dedicated Massage Therapist provider to join our De Rusha Clinic, located at our Bloomington campus. NWHSU De Rusha Clinic is a teaching clinic for intern students, under the supervision and guidance of faculty members. This individual will supervise and mentor massage therapy interns and provide direct 1:1 care to patients. The ideal candidate has a passion for student success and for advancing the next generation of massage therapist professionals.

This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible, adjunct faculty position, working 7-14 hours per week. Saturday shifts may be required.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN in person

Duties:

• Instructs student interns regarding proper patient care, while following the clinical policies of the Massage program.
• Provides mentoring and fosters an environment where student interns serve as the primary care provider.
• Instructs students in efficient and proper patient interactions, including professionalism, conduct, dress, and legalities.
• Monitors student progress, assessing student strengths and weaknesses.
• Assists with the monitoring of patient progress, helping to guide MT treatment protocols.
• Assures that student interns are properly documenting patient care.
• Referral of patients to other healthcare professionals as dictated by patient circumstance.
• Provides both qualitative and quantitative goals to student interns.
• Evaluates students, using standardized grading instruments.
• Meets established University deadlines when grading student progress.
• It is the responsibility of the clinic faculty to facilitate client care in the clinic, this includes monitoring and guiding treatment of clients by interns. It is also the faculty's responsibility to assess and verify interns' competence.
  
  

What you need to have?

• Bachelor's degree, required
• Massage license (NCBTMB) or certificate as required by applicable laws or be eligible to sit for an appropriate licensing/certification exam or provide evidence of equivalent training or experience in lieu of eligibility.
• 2-3 years of practical experience
• Prior teaching experience, preferred
• Preference for clinical experience or training in various massage techniques.
• Preference for individuals with a record of superior clinical, educational, interpersonal, managerial and communication skills; and dedication to academic excellence.

Compensation:

$29.00 per hour

The hiring rate reflects a candidate with a bachelor's degree and at least 18 months of related clinical experience. Candidates with less experience or a lower degree level will have their rate adjusted accordingly.
