What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Supervisor (Neurosurgery) position at NORTHWEST SURGICAL?

This position will be based out of our Vancouver location, though occasional travel will be required between all Washington and Oregon locations.
Responsibilities:

- Recruit, hire, train and supervise the clinic front office, back office and clinical staff at designated clinic location.
- Coordinate with other clinic leaders in the development and implementation of the daily work schedule and staffing plans. Responsible for processing of timecards, and approval of time-off requests. Authorize overtime for staff. Ensure staff take required breaks and lunches.
- Work in designated offices as a medical assistant, unit coordinator or front office staff as needed up to approximately 80% of the regular work week as determined by staffing and direct supervisor.
- Supervise and oversee the daily operations and work flow.
- Coordinate with other supervisors and managers in supervision of daily operations.
- The expectation to deploy ancillary staff, in cooperation with ancillary manager.
- Establish performance expectations and conduct staff evaluations to include setting appropriate individual goals.
- Enforce policies and procedures, including safety and professional behavior.
- Responsible for coaching and performance management. Provide regular feedback.
- Respond to patient complaints in a timely and appropriate manner. Troubleshoot, manage and report patient issues.
- Work with Director, COO, and other leaders to create and implement new policies and procedures, efficient workflows, resolve patient concerns, and support patient care needs.
- Act as a resource for staff.
- Supervise procedure and/or study scheduling as appropriate for location.
- Act as a resource for staff, Director and COO.
- Identify and solve physician concerns, questions, and suggestions.
- Attend lead meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Graduate from a Medical Assisting or Nursing program preferred, other credentials considered. Training in Nursing, or other clinical program resulting in nationally recognized certification or licensure (eg: ATC, PT, CNA, LPN) preferred.Certificate/License: BLS Certification. Valid Washington State certification to practice medical assisting or a Washington State clinical license required if functioning in a role requiring certification and/or license.
Experience: Five years of experience in a clinical setting working directly with patients and medical providers. Previous supervisory and Epic EHR experience strongly preferred.
Requirements: Must be able to travel between offices in Oregon and Washington.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in taking vital signs. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
