What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Receptionist position at Northwest suburban medical group?
Our office is looking to fill a friendly and energetic Full time medical assistant/receptionist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients, manage check-in/check-out, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
- Record vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients and examination rooms; assist providers during exams and minor procedures.
- Administer injections, vaccines, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as permitted.
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and preventive care.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, process referrals, and collect co-pays.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), document patient encounters, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Clean, stock, and sterilize exam rooms, instruments, and medical supplies.
- Coordinate prescription refills, communicate test results as directed by the provider, and respond to patient messages.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to provide compassionate, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
