Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing critical care at the scene and during transport
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiology evaluations
- Manage airway patency through airway management techniques and administer oxygen or ventilation support as needed
- Execute medication administration, injections, venipuncture, and aseptic techniques following medical protocols
- Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws; handle heavy lifting during patient extrication and equipment setup
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care reports, vital signs, and treatment procedures accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with hospital staff at Level I Trauma Centers and Level II trauma centers for effective patient handoff and continued care
Skills
- Proven critical care experience within hospital settings or emergency medicine environments
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and emergency protocols
- Skilled in triage, patient assessment, and urgent care procedures in high-pressure situations
- Expertise in airway management, medication administration, injection techniques, and vital sign monitoring
- Experience with DME (Durable Medical Equipment), venipuncture, and aseptic techniques necessary for advanced patient care
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely while demonstrating excellent driving skills under stress
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of active movement; adept at performing physical examinations efficiently
