Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and arrive swiftly at the scene of incidents, providing essential patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support procedures such as airway management, injection administration, medication delivery, and oxygen therapy.
- Utilize advanced patient care techniques including venipuncture and aseptic techniques when necessary for treatment or medication administration.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws; conduct heavy lifting and physical exertion during patient extrication and transport.
- Communicate clearly with hospital staff, triage teams, and emergency responders to ensure seamless patient handoff and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, treatment provided, and incident details in compliance with medical protocols.
Requirements
- Valid EMT certification with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; prior EMT experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated critical care experience, including hospital or emergency room exposure, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency medicine practices.
- Experience with airway management techniques, patient assessment procedures, and critical care transport protocols.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking in urgent situations.
- Strong driving record with the ability to operate emergency vehicles safely under pressure.
