Position is Part time 30 hours 6am-4p Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders
- Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and document patient behaviors and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote a safe and therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for patients

-This position is on call filling in for call outs and time off requests

Qualifications:

-Strong leadership skills encouraged
- Previous experience in mental health or related field preferred
- Knowledge of hospice care, senior care, dementia care, or behavior management systems is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Familiarity with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
- Experience working in a nursing home or similar setting is beneficial

-Prior medication administration experience

-Ability to work with pharmacies to order medications and obtain medication orders, physician offices to help individuals schedule, attend and advocate their needs and changes in health

Summary

As a Mental Health Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will be essential in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with mental health challenges. Reporting to the Program Manager, your role involves assisting with daily living activities (ADLs), medication administration, and implementing care plans. Your core skills in caregiving, along with premium skills in patient observation and home & community care, will ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Additionally, your experience in hospice and nursing home settings will enhance the quality of care provided to our clients, fostering their well-being and independence.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
