Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and cleaning routines
- Handle animals gently and confidently during feeding, grooming, exercise, and restraint procedures
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to ensure animals are happy and engaged
- Support animal behavior assessments and training activities to promote positive interactions and reduce stress
- Lift heavy loads safely during kennel setup, cleaning supplies handling, and equipment maintenance (team lifting when necessary)
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and behaviors to ensure excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel operations demonstrates strong animal handling skills is preferred
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet grooming practices is a plus
- Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions with enthusiasm
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitization standards for pet care facility hygiene
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and visitors
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and engage in active outdoor work
- Familiarity with animal behavior principles to promote safe handling and training
