Position Description

The Neuropsychological Practice Leader (NPL) is a clinical leader for Northwest Passage Services Inc. This role ensures the high quality of the agency’s service delivery system by fostering open communication, mutual learning, and shared problem-solving among neuropsychological staff and colleagues across disciplines. Working in close partnership with the Director of Community-Based Services, the NPL provides clinical oversight and guidance that values input from all team members to strengthen neuropsychological services and outcomes. The NPL receives guidance, support, and supervision from the administrative team while championing a culture where diverse perspectives inform and enhance clinical practice.

The NPL will also provide direct services as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The NPL will aid the treatment and assessment process through comprehensive evaluation and assessment as well as providing consultation on treatment plan design and management throughout the course of treatment or assessment.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee and provide leadership regarding all aspects of neuropsychological services within the mental health programs.  
  • Provide support and oversight for neuropsychological assessment activities conducted in both residential and outpatient settings.
  • Work closely with program leadership, specifically Directors, to develop and implement comprehensive neuropsychological services to meet the diverse needs of clients. 
  • Provide direct clinical supervision, training, mentorship, and guidance to Neuropsychologists, Psychologists, and Masters-level Clinical Interns. 
  • Actively foster a collaborative work environment where psychologists and other clinicians listen to and thoughtfully consider feedback from colleagues, recognizing the unique perspectives and expertise each brings.
  • Responsible for new employee/intern orientation specific to their clinical role.  
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and integrate evidence-based services into the programs. 
  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of neuropsychological services, making adjustments as needed. 
  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and assessment of clients as assigned. This will include assessments with children and direct contact and staffings with families as appropriate.  
  • Communicate, consult, and collaborate effectively with assessment and/or treatment team members to provide coordinated assessment and treatment services.  
  • Provide consultation on cases as requested.
  • Integrate professional treatment and behavioral strategies within a multi-disciplinary team, drawing on the strengths of medical, direct care, and other professional staff.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain high ethical standards. 
  • Monitor and manage the completion of all required documentation and billing as indicated by certification, funding source, and program standards. 
  • In collaboration with the Directors, and/or Human Resources, the NPL is responsible for recruitment, retention, and/or termination of neuropsychological team members. 
  • Further develop and distribute training materials and identify training opportunities to meet the needs of clients, staff, and community. 
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.  
     

Supervisory Responsibilities

The NPL is responsible for the supervision and oversight of Neuropsychologists and Psychologists and additional mental health staff as necessary and/or appropriate. The NPL works collaboratively with Directors and clinical supervisors regarding staff performance in areas of evaluation, treatment planning, clinical skills, and case conceptualization.  The NPL in cooperation Directors and clinical supervisors will complete performance evaluations or feedback to program staff when necessary, but will not act independently regarding performance evaluation and/or performance plans or disciplinary measures.   


Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin and qualify for reimbursement by Wisconsin MA and third party or should be eligible for Wisconsin licensure.
  • Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in clinical psychology
  • Completion of an internship with experience in pediatric neuropsychology
  • Completion of a fellowship with experience in pediatric neuropsychology
  • 5 years of licensed clinical experience 
  • Have experience and demonstrated skill in the use of clinical practice theories and systems.  
  • Ability to use professional experience and well-developed reasoning skills to make sound and ethical clinical judgments.  
  • Have demonstrated skills in leadership and proactive problem solving. 
  • Ability to give, receive and implement constructive feedback.  Ability to learn and adapt. 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.  Ability to be self-directed and solution-focused.   
  • Ability to generate and maintain a variety of documents -- through either proficient use of basic Microsoft Office tools/computer programs and/or dictation.  
  • Have demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted practice standards within the field.
