What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Identity Engineer position at Northwest Partners?
Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established financial services organization and seeks an experienced identity security engineer to take ownership of enterprise identity governance and privileged access management platforms. This role plays a pivotal part in securing user access across the organization.
This role is onsite at Texas San Antonio, TX or Tysons, VA.
What YOU will do
• Engineer, integrate, and administer an identity governance platform, managing joiner/mover/leaver processes, workflows, and application onboarding
• Design, deploy, and support a cloud-based privileged access management system, including session recording and auditing
• Manage full lifecycle operations for IGA and PAM tools including upgrades, patching, and capacity planning
• Develop and enforce policies on access certification, role management, and segregation of duties
• Serve as a key contributor within the enterprise IAM team, following established documentation and change management practices
• Act as technical lead across teams, clearly communicating complex identity-related requirements and risks
• Provide Tier 3 operational support, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis for identity-related issues
• Participate in off-hours maintenance and on-call rotations as required
What YOU will bring us
• 7 years of experience in identity and access management engineering and architecture
• 3 years of hands-on experience deploying and administering IGA and PAM platforms in enterprise environments
• Extensive knowledge of the Saviynt platform, including both IGA and Cloud PAM modules
• Experience integrating identity platforms with Active Directory, cloud services, databases, and APIs
• Familiarity with security protocols and standards such as LDAP, SAML, OAuth 2.0, SCIM, and PKI
• Ability to lead projects independently and communicate effectively across technical and business teams
• Preferred: certifications in Saviynt, experience with SailPoint, CyberArk, or BeyondTrust
• Preferred: knowledge of cloud identity systems (Azure AD, AWS IAM), scripting (Python, PowerShell), and passwordless tools
