Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established insurance organization and seeks an experienced Full Stack Developer to support enterprise claims technology initiatives. This role will focus on building scalable applications, modernizing cloud-native systems, and enhancing integrations across enterprise insurance platforms while contributing to architecture and engineering best practices.
What YOU will do
• Design and develop scalable full stack applications and enterprise services
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical solution design across distributed systems
• Develop and support integrations using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and cloud-native services
• Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
• Build and maintain microservices and middleware components within enterprise insurance systems
• Create proof of concepts and evaluate emerging technologies and development approaches
• Enforce secure coding standards, testing practices, and software engineering best practices
• Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration initiatives
• Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using logging and monitoring tools
What YOU will bring us
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 8 years of experience as a full stack Java developer
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and enterprise application architecture
• Experience designing scalable and maintainable distributed systems
• Expertise with Java and modern development frameworks
• Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture
• Strong understanding of cloud-native development and AWS services
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
• Proficiency with SQL, secure coding practices, and version control systems such as Git
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing methodologies
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools
• Knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter or enterprise claims platforms is highly preferred
• Experience within property and casualty insurance environments is preferred
• Exposure to AI prompt engineering or agentic engineering concepts is a plus
