The CRNA is responsible for providing anesthesia care across the perioperative continuum, including pre-anesthesia evaluation, administration and maintenance of anesthesia, and post-anesthesia recovery management. This role works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments including patient history, physical evaluation, and anesthesia planning

Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans for surgical and procedural patients

Administer and maintain general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC)

Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during procedures

Manage airway support, ventilation, and hemodynamic stability during anesthesia

Respond to and manage anesthesia-related emergencies and complications

Provide post-anesthesia care and evaluation to ensure safe patient recovery

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards

Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record

Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to surgical and anesthesia services

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program. Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia required.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current Registered (RN) license in the State of Mississippi or Compact State Licensure
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with CRNA certification
- Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
Experience: Previous CRNA experience preferred. Experience providing anesthesia services in acute care or surgical settings.
