Northwest Medical Specialties, PLLC offers South Sound residents compassionate, experienced and innovative treatment in cancer care. We have an immediate opportunity for a Patient Access Representative, responsible for working with patients, providers, and clinical staff to ensure timely completion of patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Travels to and works from various clinic locations as needed.
- Provides excellent customer service to each patient to ensure best care and or experience with NWMS.
- Coordinate activities for your role that meets the department expectations and or company goals.
- Schedules patient appointments.
- Answers incoming phone calls and makes outbound calls.
- Manages patient no shows and cancellations and reschedules patients
- Ensures all follow up appointments are scheduled in appropriate time frame in accordance with treatment plan, provider direction, and or patient needs.
-Coordinate appointments with providers, other departments, and patients to ensure timely delivery of diagnostic and treatment services
- Verify demographics and insurance information.
- Prints and distributes patient schedules, medication list, referrals, etc.
- Works with clinical staff and providers to ensure timely patient flow throughout the clinic, including performing check out functions.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, staff, physicians and leadership.
- Sends appropriate patient information to other physicians, diagnostic studies etc. for continuing care.
- Works with patients who use community transportation services.
-Schedule interpreters for all patients with translation needs.
-Ensure that appropriate medical records are available at scheduled appointments.
Additional duties:
-Ensures accuracy of work and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/ regulations and confidentiality of patient records and company information.
-Understand and consistently follow policies and procedures of the department and company.
-Attends meetings and /or training as required.
-Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality.
-Assist other departments as needed.
-Work on additional projects and duties as needed or assigned.
**To ensure the safety of NWMS’ vulnerable patient populations, we require post-offer proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot and COVID-19. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
Schedule: This is a full time position, Monday - Friday during business hours
Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience in a high paced medical office or hospital setting
- At least 2 years experience medical scheduling, preferably in a specialty field/dept
- Oncology/hematology or other acute healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- Clinical experience (CMA, LPN, etc) preferred, but not required
