Medical Courier - PART TIME

We are looking for a reliable courier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering packages and documents in a timely manner, following all safety protocols and ensuring customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone who is dependable, punctual, and able to handle multiple tasks at once.

Job Summary:

• Pick up and deliver various medical supplies, interoffice mail and laboratory specimens from assigned clinics within a specific time frame.

Responsibilities:

• Follow an assigned driving route to maneuver between clinics and other locations in a timely manner.
• Display effective communication with physicians, patients, public, and co-workers.
• Deliver medications, charts, and other interoffice mail as assigned.
• Make pick up and deliveries to various hospitals as required.
• Make interim pickups and deliveries as requested by NWMS management.
• Represent NWMS in a professional manner at all times when interacting with the public and NWMS staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to obey all driving laws.
• Maintain appropriate service of courier vehicles as required.
• Keep the courier vehicles clean.

Typical Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Able to drive vehicle for 8 – 10 hours per day.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
• Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
• Vision and hearing within normal parameters to perform job requirements.
• Possible exposure to communicable disease.

Special Skills: Must develop a knowledge of the Practice, its general operations and specialties in order to effectively respond to incoming calls and to rout them properly. Able to operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, copy and fax machines. Effective communication with physicians, patients, public and co-workers is required.

Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed at multiple locations. Involves contact with physicians, patients, and the public. Occasional pressure due to driving conditions and time constraints.

Certificate/license: Valid Washington Driver’s license without restrictions.

Minimum Job Requirements: Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: Previous employment in a driving or delivery position. Past medical practice experience a plus.

To ensure the safety of NWMS’ vulnerable patient populations, we require post-offer proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot and COVID-19. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
